We had a wonderful dining experience at Pepper Lunch Compass One today. We were served by a lovely lady named Emily, who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. She noticed that my friend is pregnant and kindly switched us to a more comfortable seat without us even asking. Throughout our meal, she checked in on us from time to time with genuine care and warmth. Her attentiveness truly made our visit special, and we left feeling well taken care of. Thank you, Emily, for making our lunch such a pleasant experience – service like this really makes a difference!

The staff at Pepper Lunch were warm and efficient, creating a welcoming atmosphere with their attentive service. Unfortunately, the steak didn’t live up to expectations—it was thin, lacking flavor, and overcooked easily on the hot plate. While the concept of DIY teppanyaki is fun, the quality of the meat fell short, especially for the price. Stick to their rice bowls or other dishes, but if you’re craving a good steak, you might want to look elsewhere. Great service, but the main attraction missed the mark.

Server made sure the table are wiped clean before you sit down to dine. 👍🏻
Tenderloin beef was thick, juicy and a good cut.👍🏻
It was served quickly with not much wait.

The food was fantastic. I do have a minor feedback. Maybe it would be better if the different components of the meal are stated in the menu. For example, the steak comes with broccoli, mashed potatoes, mushroom etc. 2 of us made the same mistake of ordering extra rice when we thought the meal didnt come with rice. But nonethless we will still come back here for the great food.

I got the Diced Cut Steak and it came with mash potatoes, mushroom, brocolli and a side of rice and brown steak sauce at $19.90. Very full. The staff who seated me explained that I needed to use the QR code on the table to order and bring my table number sign to collect drinks at the counter (if any).
However the staff who served my food simply placed it on my table silently and walked off. I had eaten there before so I know that it’s sizzling hot and how to cook the food. I wish they announced to everyone the name of the dish they got and warned that it’s hot. The table beside me got the wrong dish and had to ask the waitress to come back and confirm that it’s wrong.

Noisy environment with poor ventilation and acoustics control. Seafood pasta was served with sauce that dried up very quickly on the hot plate. When asked about the possibility of providing additional tomato sauce because the sauce dried up, staff said it'll cost additional $2.50 for just tomato sauce. Decided not to pay extra and bear with the dried up seafood pasta which felt like dried and fried mee goreng. For $17.90 plus additional crabmeat at $1.50, there are better options out there. Will not be back.

The food portion is good. Maybe a bit oily but since it is hot stone food, it needs the oil. The taste of the food is good. The service is good too. The cheesecake is good. Forgot to take photo of the other food.

I had a terrible experience at this outlet, as the Staff were not helpful and we had an extremely long wait, all for nothing.
Three of us visited Pepper Lunch at 1.30 pm on 28/6/2025. We were in the queue and there was a table for four when it was our turn. However, we were not ushered in. Instead, the table for four were separated into two single tables. Two pairs of couples who were behind us in the queue were told to take each single table seats instead. We waited for a good 20 min and during this period, a total of 4 couples who were queuing behind us were ushered in.
This is unacceptable because there is no ‘first come first serve’ principle. Which means to say, to enter the restaurant, it depends on our luck. People who queue behind us must be three or more customers. Any number below three will get priority to enter the restaurant. If this is so, there is no need to have queue system!
This is a disastrous towards customers’ experience. Please fix this terrible practice ASAP and train your staff well!

Food & Taste quality is up to standard. 👍
🍛 Seafood Cheesy Risotto ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Always crowded during peak hours.
Expect long queue and longer waiting time.
You can order first while waiting to be seated.
Scan QR code and place your order.
You can choose to pay online or pay at the counter.
If you pay online, your order will be serve faster.
One things I don't really like for dine in is clothes and hair will get strong cooking smell.
Especially for those with thick and long hair! OMG!😷
