Fu Qi Grilled Fish

I was rather surprised by the number of negative reviews posted here. We went to this place for lunch. Despite it being lunch time, the place was quite empty as compared to the long queue Nakhon had. The waitress was quite friendly and sincere in introducing the restaurant to us. Even though we had wanted to visit Nakhon, we were not prepared to queue. Her sincere service also won us over. We ordered 酸菜烤鱼 as one of my girlfriends cannot take spicy stuff. We also order a couple of other dishes plus some 串串. We enjoyed the 酸菜鱼 much though even though it was fried and not grilled. However, I cannot say the same for another waitress manning the cashier. Come on, we were paying customer. Be nice. Don't give us a face like we owe you a million dollars. There were a couple of time where we asked for her assistance and she just came across as highly impatient. Really, if the food has not been served, I would have cancelled my orders and walked out. Her service attitude is a great turn off! It was for the nice waitress who took our orders that I did not give a 2 star rating.

Had the mixed green red chili fish. Flavour wise, it was not spicy if you can handle spice. Fish was enough for 4 pax if you have other dishes. Cold chicken was just ok, dont need to order. Love their fragrant big intestine - smelly enough but tastes good. Skewers wise, lamb was better than beef. Maybe can shorten cooking time as it was sliiiightly tough. Milk tea was nice too, tastes like those HK milk tea. Overall food wise, can come here for quick family meal. Not bad but not the best. Service wise, agree with other reviews. Waitress auntie damn fierce sia.. but she gets the job done. I went at 11am but felt like she was already in a bad mood. Asked if she can put the burner in the middle, but she stared into my eyes and soul and said "I will do it later. If I put it in the middle now, you gotta stand up and let me put down the fish." Relac ah. Dont so fierce. Just asking only. The male chef/waiter was very friendly.

Fu Qi serving China cuisine located on level 2 in Compass One mall. They offer a wide variety of dishes on their menu. Their signature dish is the "Grilled" fish served in different ways. The fish is fresh but I guess what's misleading is the way it is cooked The fish is fried rather than Grilled. We tried the lamb skewers, felt that they were over marinated and lost the lamb taste. The lamb ribs were ok too. Fried chicken tossed with dried chilli is good. The beef tripes, pork trotters, pig's ears & century egg were just on the average. The waitress that attended to us was very helpful and attentive. Price point is normal for an outlet in a heartland mall. I believe there is room for alot of improvement in their dishes.

Located on the second floor of Compass One shopping mall, Their Grilled Fish with Pickled Mustard Greens was one of their specialty and a recommended dish as mentioned on the menu. Tai Er Grilled Fish, Fragrant Spicy crab 太二烤鱼 香辣蟹 老坛子酸菜鱼 is a Chinese restaurant selling Sichuan grilled fish in Compass One. The grilled seabass fish, which is the restaurant specialty after tasting for the second times, it is fried, the texture and taste of the fish is average. It is not seasoned well with spices. Similarly for the signature fried rice, it lacks the 'wok hey' and seasonings. For the service, diners will expect to wait longer for the dishes. The waitresses can be warm at the beginning, but throughout the later timing, evening, it is difficult to get their attention. We did not enjoy the dishes.

Food is nice , but waitress attitude not so friendly. No queuing no crowded. While we ordering the food the waitress here is very impatient .When serving our dish the waitress put down the bowl and plate is very loud . Really spoiled customer mood.

Came here for dinner. Ordered the 酸菜烤鱼 but it doesn't taste anything like 酸菜. Tasted more like plain water with veg and fried fish. Really bad. Asked the staff if they can add more 酸菜 as it is basically tasteless, she said it will be more flavourful as it boils. So we accepted it. But minutes later, she came back out with a pot of what seems like chicken stock and added it in without informing us what it was. End up, we had salty chicken stock soup with fried fish. Still no 酸菜 taste. Very very disappointing. The 烤串 was not bad , more flavourful than the 烤鱼, but not worth the price.

We visited on 28 Aug 2022, dinner time. Ordered the 酸菜烤鱼, portion was just nice for 2 pax. Food taste was a 3 for me. And just like many other reviews here, the service was a 2. The staffs were pretty much unfriendly (except for one petite size auntie with bun hair), probably they were short handed. They don't serve serviettes on the table and we asked for serviettes which they said they don't have it, and we have to purchase wet tissues if we want and we did. To our disappointment, we saw packet of serviettes on one of their tables.

I wouldn’t say it is the best grilled fish. Because I have tried better ones. My friends and I felt that they shouldn’t have fried the fish first. Thus making the fish alittle hard. Apparently the bbq skewers were good. Do try the mutton and beef ones. Affordable at $1 each. May consider ordering just the skewers plus the beer next time.

Food looks nice but not taste like 酸菜at all, the waitress wearing cap very impatient while we ordering. And also put down the dishes very loudly. And also playing plenty of old Chinese local song - 慢摇音乐 in the shop. Very disappointed.

Food was overpriced and staffs were unfriendly. The portion and actual dishes were very different from what is shown in the menu. For example, the picture on the menu showed 3 mantou on one skewer but it came with 2 halves of a mantou on one skewer. The chicken and fish we ordered was also disappointing. We didn’t order a lot but the bill turned out to be $100+ for 4 ppl, really not worth at all.
