I am a fairly patient and tolerable person. I also rarely write reviews but the customer service here is non-existent. Or rather, it’s actually worse because of rude and snide comments made while doing a simple money exchange process. Will avoid in future, I’d be better to exchange money in Nex or elsewhere. In fact, would rather exchange money at the airport and bear those rates than let rude people like these ‘serve’ customers.

The most dishonest guy I have ever seen. As of today, 8 Dec 23, I went to exchange JPY112,000 which will be 1 SGD to JPY107.77 on official exchange. The old Indian man standing outside quoted me SGD954 which I thought was ridiculously low and I asked for their rate which was quoted 111JPY to 1 SGD and I was fine as they need to make $. When I took JPY112,000 divided by JPY111, the amount was SGD1009 and the old Indian man panicked and immediately pointed to the Indian boss inside the cubicle that he did not make the decision. What a liar and MF! Please avoid at all costs. It only further reinforced my stereotype. Be careful when dealing. Thanks

Convenient, close to my house and honest owners. Friendly uncle behind the counter. There was once, I just need an additional 50cents which I don't have and he gave me the exchanged malaysian money first and told me dont worry, take my time to get the 50cents and come back later or anytime I'm free. Such trusts they have towards their customers.
I have been changing money from this place since I shifted Sengkang for years! Thank you for your great service to the people of the North-east! Will support you guys always.
For those people who read those bad reviews, ignore them. It sounds like they are so entitled. This shop has one of the best exchange rates around!

I came across Compass Foreign Exhange whilst travelling after the covid pandemic and I've been relying on this money changer for all my currency exchange needs. The exchange rate was very competitive, and the staff was friendly and efficient. The transaction was quick and hassle-free. I would definitely recommend this money changer to others.

Just wish to share my experience of selling Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) to Singapore Dollars (SGD) on 12 August 2024. It was a straightforward transaction where the board's rate of "Buying" at "0.285" was honoured with a receipt. I told the gentleman standing outside the counter I just wanted to dispose the MYR which was a small amount and he accepted with no complaint. Promptly used the calculator to show the amount I'll be receiving in SGD and proceeded to place my MYR notes in the cash counter cum counterfeit checker to verify. Exchanged SGD was given to a gentleman seated behind the counter and notes were likewise counted using the same machine and given with receipt. I've attached a photo of the receipt with this review as evidence. They even rounded up the SGD0.08 to the nearest cent when other (unscrupulous) money changers in the next town or in other malls usually will not even bother to pay you back if it's SGD0.05 and above. Instead, they will sometimes even ask you to top up for their convenience or you risk losing that few cents. So, with my first experience this evening, it was positive. I feel I must share this truthfully due to the other negative comments. Support our local businesses yet take the necessary precaution when dealing with money. Tip to potential customers: Always check and count the money received to ensure what you're receiving is correct. Fyi, I was tricked at a big Malaysian bank when withdrawing large amount of cash where smaller denomination notes were dishonestly placed under larger ones as some money counting machines only count the quantity of notes and *not* the denomination. I'm not saying that this money changer is doing this but just to educate everyone that it's our responsibility to check ourselves. To the owners: As long as you deal with customers in an honest and professional way, some of us will be willing to vouch for you. Thank you for entertaining my small transaction.

Fantastic rates! Changed SGD to MYR and was pleasantly surprised that they were the exact same rate as the one listed on Google. Packed extra cash just in case the rates were bad but didn't have to use it in the end. Friendly uncles too.

I have been visiting this money changer a few times but today an unpleasant incident happened. I gave S$404.20 but received only S$304.20 worth of Thai baht. It was an oversight on my part not to check the amount stated on the receipt. I believe the machine amount and the total cash they received today will not tally. Plz check the CCTV. I did say “S$400. Thai baht”. I need to be careful when doing such exchange.
Update : The owner promptly replied in this review. Errors do happen at times. It is commendable to seek rectification on their part. I have improved my rating. Thank you for the good service ⭐️ .

Had a last minute scare when I realised at 8.40pm that I had forgotten to change my money to MYR. Made a quick call to request for them to wait and they were so assuring ‘just come, don’t worry we will wait’, and so they did when I arrived at 9pm on the dot, still cheerful despite me holding them back from packing up. Tks so much for waiting, and tks for assuring me that it’s all ok. Excellent service!

Visited during lunch on a Thursday. After reading some reviews, I was careful in checking the quality of the notes before I left the counter. After finding one piece that had a tear, I asked for an exchange. The gentleman helming the counter immediately obliged, saying with a smile "No problem ma'am". Overall a pleasant experience. The less competitive exchange rate is made up for by the convenience of the location within the neighbourhood.

Have been my go to moneychanger. No nonsense rates flashed on the board. I read some ridiculous reviews here. LOL. After you change money always check the amount lah people. You go travel far far then you come back to shop to claim abt torn notes, being short changed ?? Just shows how entitled people can be. You so busy or rushed you cannot take time to check and count the money ah? - We know we here in SG practically pray and idolise money. C'mon don't come up with lame excuses to bombard businesses with bad reviews.
