Kitty and I were craving a taste of Korea before our upcoming trip to Jeju, and we decided to try out Seorae at Compass One. We were both in the mood for some delicious Makgeolli, and Seorae definitely delivered!
Right from the start, we felt welcomed. The floor supervisor greeted us warmly and let us know he'd already set up a table for us, which was a nice touch. The atmosphere at Seorae was cozy and inviting, with a warm and friendly vibe.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including the Japchae, which was a classic and delicious blend of sweet and savory flavors. The kimchi jjigae was another highlight, with a comforting spiciness that warmed us up from the inside out.
But the real star of the show was the Makgeolli. We were so happy to find a place that offered this delicious Korean rice wine, and it was the perfect complement to our meal. We were so engrossed in our Makgeolli and the delightful conversation that we didn't even notice Kitty's last cup being taken away while she was paying. But Seorae really went above and beyond to make things right, giving her a complimentary cup of yuzu tea and offering us a 30% discount on another bottle of Makgeolli. What incredible service!
Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Seorae. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Korean food and a friendly, welcoming environment.

Had a great lunch at SEORAE JIB (Compass One)!
The staff were super helpful and friendly, making the experience smooth and pleasant.
We ordered from the à la carte menu instead of going for the set or buffet — and it was well worth it. The grilled pork and beef were tender and of good quality. We also had budae jjigae, a crispy potato pancake, and steamed eggs (requested without cheese — and they gladly accommodated!).
A satisfying and cozy lunch spot for Korean BBQ lovers looking for flexibility and great service!

I had dinner at Seorae at Compass One on Sunday, 13 July 2025, and made a reservation through Eatigo for a 50% discount off all à la carte items.
The booking process was smooth and we were seated promptly when we arrived. I ordered a mix of BBQ meats including their cheese egg ring, U.S. Angus beef, and a few other cuts of pork and beef from the menu.
The meats were served fresh and overall tasted decent—not exceptionally premium, but good enough for a casual Korean BBQ meal.
Service throughout the night was friendly and attentive. When we realised the charcoal heat was getting weak, the staff quickly changed it to a hotter one without us even needing to ask twice.
They also offered to clean the grill pan once it became too charred during the meal, which I appreciated. The cheese egg surrounding the grill was a nice touch—fluffy, savoury, and added something extra to the meal.
This Compass One outlet is part of a small chain in Singapore, with other branches in places like NEX, Plaza Singapura, and JEM. Seorae originally started in Korea and brought its signature Galmaegisal (pork skirt meat) to Singapore.
They recently rebranded themselves as Seorae Jib, adding more homestyle dishes and elements like meat aged in traditional Onggi jars to elevate the dining experience.
Overall, I’d say the food was okay, and the service definitely made the experience better.
But even with the 50% Eatigo discount, the prices still felt slightly high for a shopping mall setting and for what we got.

I hadn’t returned for a while after a terrible experience previously, but my partner suggested we give it another try.
To my surprise, they’ve introduced a new set menu, which is a nice change. The biggest improvement I noticed was the cleanliness especially the condiments. The mustard and vinegar bottles are now clearly labeled with dates indicating when they were last changed. This is a big deal for me because during my last visit, the mustard was spoiled and no one cared to replace it.
Another major improvement is the manpower and service quality, it’s great to see such positive changes.
That said, it’s not perfect yet we still found a dead worm in the kimchi (which was replaced immediately). So yes, there are still issues, but I felt they deserved some credit for the efforts they’ve made and their willingness to improve.

Great Korean BBQ Experience!
Had a fantastic meal at this Korean BBQ restaurant. The food was fresh and flavorful—especially the marinated meats. What really stood out was the friendly staff who helped grill everything perfectly at the table, making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place if you're craving authentic Korean BBQ and great service. Will definitely be back!! The only minus point is the smokey beef taste are not my favorite..
