Seorae (Compass One): A Delicious Korean Food Practice Run for Our Jeju Adventure (5/5 Stars) Rating: • Food Quality: 4.5/5 (Delicious Korean dishes, including Japchae, Kimchi Jeon, DIY Jumeokbap, and Makkoli) • Service: 5/5 (Friendly, attentive, and accommodating staff, making the dining experience enjoyable. The staff even gave me a complimentary cup of yuzu tea when they accidentally took away my last cup of Makkoli! They also offered us a 30% discount on another bottle of Makkoli, which we happily accepted.) Overall: 5/5 Donkey and I recently visited Seorae located at Compass One. Their service staff are all very friendly and attentive. Food are nice too. We ordered Japchae, Kimchi Jeon, DIY Jumeokbap & also not forgetting our favorite Makkoli. Staff accidentally keep away my last cup of makkoli while I went to make payment and they gave me a cup of free yuzu tea as compensation A taste of Korea before Korea! Tonight's dinner was a delicious preview of the amazing food adventures awaiting us in Jeju. 🤤🥢 Korean food practice run for our upcoming Jeju adventure! 🇰🇷😋

To start with, most of the 5 stars review you see are because if you give a good review, can get a free ice cream. True honest opinion, we won't be back again. We went because of the 19.90 promotion. We only added drinks. Total bill was $160+ for 6 persons because of service charge and tax. We were surprised because service was almost non existent. As it was our first time there, staff was not helpful and there was no advice on what to do. Staff was also unsure about the name of meat, kept insisting the red sauce meat was not spicy, but later after checking they realized that it was spicy. Meat was also not yummy, this was the worst Korean bbq I have eaten ever. No rice also, hard selling the pancake at extra cost, choice of side dishes was also pathetic. Also the hygiene is terrible, every black plate at the side dishes corner was not properly cleaned. Overall we left feeling very unhealthy, unsatisfied. Regret should have gone for japanese buffet nearby the price would be about the same. There's no way I'm ever coming back here again.

Second time visiting and decided to top up for the beef short plate. Meat quality wise is good, but selection is limited but good enough. We think the beef is tastier than the other meats. Banchan is fresh and good enough selection, vegetables, sauces is all fresh and proper.

Not our first time here, and we’re always craving their food! For K-BBQ lovers like us, don’t miss their Signature Set, which comes with a free jjigae or cold noodles and cheesy gyeran jjim (U.P. $32.90). Elevate your K-BBQ experience with the Jib Platter, a curated selection of wraps including seaweed, tortilla, and lettuce, paired with flavorful additions like pineapple, marinated squid, and grilled baby shrimp for the perfect balance of taste and texture. The juicy and tender rare Galmaegisal, a standout in the Pork Signature Set, was once reserved exclusively for Korean royalty. Sourced from the delicate area between the ribs and belly, only 250 grams of this premium pork skirt meat are available per full-grown pig. Marinated and expertly massaged for 30 minutes, it achieves an incredibly tender, wagyu-like texture with every bite. Don’t miss out on their Sotbaps too, available exclusively for lunch from $14.90! These flavorful rice bowls feature fluffy rice topped with premium meats and finished with crispy, savory nurungji (scorched rice) for an irresistible bite. We tried the Smoked Black Pork Samgyeobsal Sotbap, it’s definitely a must-try! Also, don’t miss the exclusive offerings at the Compass One outlet: the Salmon & Mushroom Duo and the Scallop & Chicken Duo with Mentaiko Mayo Sotbap. Other than these, we also tried the crispy Bacon Potato Jeon, which is half smothered in gooey cheese and half drizzled with bold, spicy gochujang sauce for the perfect creamy and fiery balance, along with the refreshing Strawberry Yakult mix.
