30 May 2025 I bought this meal expecting a proper dinner, but I was genuinely shocked when I opened the box. The fried chicken was badly overcooked and borderline burnt — just take a look at the photos. What made it worse was that I bought two sets of this. This is definitely not what I expect when I’m paying for a meal. The quality was completely unacceptable and it totally ruined my appetite. Really disappointed and frustrated. I truly hope the business takes this feedback seriously and works on improving their food standards. 17 Jun 2025 I really appreciate the thoughtful response from the team at Shan Cheng Ipoh Delicacies after my previous feedback. It was clear they took my comments seriously and followed up with a kind gesture in the form of a gift voucher, which I redeemed at the CPO outlet with the help of Jessie, the outlet manager. This time, the experience was much better. The fried chicken was properly cooked and flavorful, not burnt like before. It was juicy on the inside with a nice crisp on the outside, and I could tell more care had gone into preparing the meal. The rice was fragrant, the sambal had a good kick, and everything in the box was fresh and neatly packed. Mistakes can happen, but what matters is how a business chooses to respond. Shan Cheng handled it with sincerity and care, and it made a real difference. Thank you again for listening and for the warm follow-up. I’m glad I gave it another try and will be happy to return.

First time putting down a review for Shan Cheng. Had their food a number of times now. This time had the ipoh dry horfun with wanton set. Chose iced white coffee for my drink which is really good. Added their fried wanton and a sunny side up and requested not to overcook the egg as I love the flowy egg yolk to be mixed into the horfun. Grab my buzzer and collected my drink first. Waited less than 15mins for my food. Self-collected and helped myself to the chilli and cutleries. Food is overall really enjoyable. Their fried wanton is a great dish well done. Their chilli is slightly sour and spicy, it is a good compliment with the noodles. Great ipoh cuisine, will continue to patronise

I ordered a bowl of char siew horfun. The picture looks tantalising but the real thing is disappointing. The horfun is cooked until soggy, the char siew is dry and too lean. The deep-fried beancurd skin is very greasy. For almost $9 a bowl, it is not value-for-money.

I visited recently to try their exclusive Lunar New Year menu, and it was not bad. The staff was attentive, and the food came out quickly. The portions were huge to be honest, especially the Ji Xing Bao Xi Hor. It has a lot of ingredients like chicken, abalone, prawns, prawn balls, I think 2 people can share this, the only thing is I feel it can be more flavourful because it was a bit bland for me and I had to add the chili into the soup. Their Helicopter curry chicken rice is very flavourful and spicy, also big portion! The golden platter is nice for sharing too. And their homemade egg tart is soft and not too sweet. Go give it a try if you are at Compass One.

Me and my hub came here to try their newly traditional Ipoh Chee Chong Fun, their Chee Chong Fun are freshly imported from Ipoh weekly. It comes in 6 flavours ➡️ Iconic Ipoh Mixed Sauce ➡️ Dry Mix with Shrimp Chilli ➡️ Sweet Red & Mushroom ➡️ Curry Sauce ➡️ Mushroom Sauce ➡️ Classic Dry Mix All look so good and end up we tried their Iconic Ipoh Mixed Sauce and Dry Mix with Shrimp Chilli, and wow we love the smooth texture in their Chee Cheong Fun. The Iconic Ipoh Mixed Sauce has the spicy and sweet combination. Dry Mix with Shrimp Chilli - The chili super well matched with the Chee Chong Fun. 😋 You also can grab their add-on sides to go along with Chee Chong Fun; ➡️Fried Ipoh Big Handmade Fish Balls (2pcs) ➡️Fried Crispy Crackers ➡️Fried Mixed Snacks ➡️Curry Pig Skin All are prepared freshly, and my personal favourite definitely is their curry pig skin, their curry is flavourful and delicious.

Shan Cheng (Ipoh Delicacies) ● 山城 - Compass One is a great place to go if you're looking for some authentic Malaysian food. Their menu features a variety of dishes, from classic favorites like nasi lemak and satay to more unique offerings like chicken rice and fish curry. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and the service is friendly and attentive. Here are some additional things to keep in mind: * The restaurant is located on the second floor of Compass One, so you'll need to take the escalator up. * The restaurant can get busy during peak hours. * The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

I’ve always loved Ipoh food, 山城 never disappoints. The taste is just like home – warm, comforting, and full of flavour. Recently, they updated their menu and added set meals. I think it’s a good change! The sets are value for money and come with everything you need – main dish, side, and drink.

We love to come here after school when we crave for our all-time favourite, Shredded Chicken lpoh Horfun! Flavourful broth and silky horfun, topped with chicken meat and prawns. You have to try it! We are so comfortable with our usual favourite and hence, some dishes were pretty new to us and we decided to try out. Dry Char Siew Horfun and Shaoxing Wine Chicken that can be easily paired with a bowl of plain rice. Besides the noodles, lpoh Golden Platter was good for sharing and it's so rare to find fried turnip anywhere else, so order this platter should you visit. Curry Chee Cheong Fun came with a spicy kick, it was nice! Their Kaya Butter Toast is a MUST try! No doubt that they sell noodles and other savoury to trust me that you have to order this. The toast was legit good, it surpassed the quality and taste of the ones from the famous coffee chains.

Taste ok, but for just a bowl of curry noodles and a cup of coffee selling at $14, i think it's abit overpriced 😓

I would like to provide some feedback regarding my takeaway order placed today at 11:45 AM. Despite ordering well before the usual lunch rush, my food was only ready at 12:17 PM, after I had to remind your staff twice. From the small window where I could observe the preparation area, I noticed that orders placed after mine were being served before mine. Additionally, it seemed your staff were spending time searching for items rather than preparing orders efficiently. This experience was disappointing and not what I expect from your restaurant. I hope you will take steps to improve your order management and customer service to avoid such delays in the future.
