umisushi Compass One

I had ordered the Beef bento and miso soup. The guy at the counter recommended me chawanmushi with $1.90. But they never give me the “CHAWANMUSHI” Only beef bento and miso soup?

I usually enjoy dining at umisushi Compass One, but I had a disappointing experience during my visit on 18 May 2025 around 12pm. The Filipino male manager, who was skinny and wearing a black collared button-up shirt, was unexpectedly rude and unprofessional in both tone and attitude. It made what is normally a pleasant visit quite unpleasant. To make matters worse, he did not provide a receipt for my purchase, so I have limited information to reference for this complaint. I plan to return next Sunday to request a receipt directly. If I’m able to obtain it, I will update this review accordingly. That said, the food itself was excellent. The udon was absolutely delicious—the broth was rich and flavorful, perfectly complementing the chewy noodles. The crab sticks, narutomaki (fish cake), wakame seaweed, and scallions added both texture and visual appeal. On another occasion, I also tried a version with aburaage (fried tofu) and seaweed, which added great depth of flavor. The portions were generous, and the presentation was beautiful. Despite the service issue, I still recommend umisushi for its authentic and satisfying Japanese meals. I hope management can address the service experience so that it matches the quality of the food.

Why do I have to pay for soy sauce to taking out..don't you suppose to give at least one o two pkt to the customer. From the previous review I read soy sauce is provide free if you dine in. Why the different treatment for taking out and dining in. Can you explain that to me? Or this is why you can sustain why charging for essential that you suppose to give in the in the first place. I'm surprise that you didn't charge extra for the plastic bag if that is the case

Only visited as there was a promo for a bento meal, I bought the tori teriyaki bento ($5.9) takeaway. The service was ok, food didn't take long to receive. The cutleries wasn't included when I picked it up so I had to use my own. The meal was pretty good, the teriyaki was delicious and rice was cooked well. There were even some kimchi on the side as well and the meal included a small salad in a box. So, overall as a meal it was tasty and filling. The price was reasonable but since it's only a promo it will sadly last for only a short period of time.

Super terrible service. Ordered take out on 11 June at 7.10pm. waited for more than half an hour, so I went to check with cashier for my order and she said my order is preparing so I continued to wait for another 10min. Then I checked with them again and Ended up the kitchen said never receive my order.
