3.5/5, good and comfortable place for a chicken rice. Service is usually quite fast and rather attentive. Hainanese chicken is usually tender and flavourful but there are one or two instances where it was a little tough. Fried or roasted spring chicken is quite good as well, savoury and crispy. Other dishes can be a mix of hit and misses. I found the steamed threadfin to not be adequately fresh enough. The dough fritters with some mystery meat didn’t impress me and we struggled to finish it. The stewed cabbage with dried scallops were sweet and light. Fried eggs with scallops was also quite good. Prices are on the higher side for a chicken rice restaurant.

I ordered a chicken rice set A, but it was incredibly disappointing because the chicken came completely skinless. I know it’s an inner breast cut, and when I mentioned this to the service crew, they said we didn’t request the skin. It’s frustrating because I expected better from a "premium" chicken rice. Isn’t it standard practice to include at least some skin? On a positive note, the sides that came with the set were good, but overall, this really didn’t meet my expectations.

First time to dine-in at this outlet. Been to their original outlet at Balestier. After that, so long by seeing this chicken rice brand, would want to give a try.
Always goes to Bendemeer Road outlet & also been to outlets like Century Sq & AMK.
Most of the time, fixed at set meal with steamed chicken meat, rice & soup of the day 😋

Coming to Boon Tong Kee, the must order will be the Steamed Chicken. The chicken is well done - Tender, Cold and Appetizing.
Eating Steamed Chicken is similar to slurping Jellies. Very comfortable to eat, very cooling and good texture. The warm rice, together with the chicken creates a perfect balance.
The other dishes are more towards Zichar style and it is definitely a nice addition to your chicken rice meal. While it is delicious, it is not necessarily a wow.

Great location and the comfortable space. The rice is nice with the tender chicken. Love all the sauces that pair well with the dish. Been there several times to dine in. Doing the take out this time.

Boiled chicken is succulent.
Stir fried baby kai lan is also nice.
However, there is a msg aftertaste. I’m not sure which dish it is from.

This place is probably one of the few restaurants in the mall that didn't require a long wait. We were seated in less than 5 mins. I honestly have never seen service so fast. From ordering to the first dish being served was literally less than 5 mins! The steam chicken was good. Soft, tender, and juicy. The other dishes were pretty good also as well. The rice, however, was slightly hard for my liking, but it was very fragrant. Overall, it was an enjoyable dinner. The price point was reasonable as well. For so many dishes, it was about $130

Very clean and bright environment, with a lot of space. Hence very wheelchair friendly. Service is good despite the lunch crowd.
Took a star off food because the beansprouts was rather oily. Chicken rice is good and deboned meat is great! Chilli seems to have lost its punch compared to last time though. Soup is very tasty.
However portions are quite small for the price. Needed to add a bowl of rice to suffice.
Still, a good chicken rice place to go to for cravings!

Got a table before lunch crowd came. The staff promptly put chopsticks and condiments with the menu.
Ordered 2 lunch sets of chicken rice and sweet and sour pork.
The chicken was the same taste and quality as before. No complaints when craving for chicken rice. The braised peanuts added the salty taste and the broccoli and cucumber were palate refreshers, all of them complimented the chicken just nice.
The chicken rice was as good as well.
The sweet and sour pork tastes like orange or pineapple was used. Whatever it was, it made it taste better.
The staff were plentiful, and attentive.

Kudos to the senior waitress for their sharp observation. She spotted we have nearly finished the minced ginger and chili paste and then quickly helped to replace a new one. I admire your professionalism 👍.
Chicken and vegetables are good. Chicken is tender as usual, just that breast meat is still slightly dry if without the chicken sauce. Overall is good for a chicken rice for my taste.

This is my first visit to this outlet with my family and find the place quite neatly arranged. Ordered half chicken, 梅菜扣肉, veggie with three types of egg. Chicken is as usual tender and juicy and very flavorful without fail. 梅菜扣肉Is rather salty and not preferred. Veggie is done nicely and good to go with rice. As a whole, is a good meal and worth the visit.

Boon Tong Kee, a staple in Singapore for its chicken rice, offers a dining experience that's both traditional and flavorful, especially at its Balestier location. The **rice** is the star here, incredibly aromatic and well-cooked with chicken fat and spices, earning a solid 5 stars. The **imperial pork ribs** are a must-try, tender and packed with flavor, also deserving 5 stars. The **Thai sauce chicken feet** are delicious, with a tangy and savory profile that's unique, also rated at 5 stars. However, the **chicken** only gets 4 stars from me; while it's cooked well, it's not kampong chicken, which I prefer. Boon Tong Kee's chicken lacks the distinct taste and texture I enjoy from kampong chicken, and it's not completely deboned, which slightly detracts from the experience. Despite this, Boon Tong Kee remains a go-to for quality chicken rice, though it might not satisfy those specifically seeking the kampong chicken experience.

Should open an outlet at Northpoint City. Try the chicken rice, very tender juicy and rice not too oily. Single portion is fairly big.
