I recently tried the mango tart and was disappointed. The mangoes were very sour, and the crust seemed stale. The staff explained that the mangoes were frozen, which might explain the tartness. The staff couldnt even explain why the crust was stale just say that it is frozen. Which is ridiculous how can you serve customers food that is subpar quality?

Came by to visit CompassOne this weekend and felt a little peckish post lunch. And when I chance across this Chateraise outlet, my attention was drawn to its high ceiling, large space and seating areas where patrons can sit and eat. Up until today, my impression of Chateraise was only that of a cake shop and I’m obviously wrong because I like this bright yet cosy cafe overlooking the central space of the shopping mall. I ordered their strawberry fresh cream cake and a hazelnut latte to round up the afternoon teabreak. The cake was light, and melts in the mouth, while the fresh cream they use gave the tiniest tiniest hint of alcohol. Of course they have a wide variety of cakes, pies and ice cream snacks to be paired with their regular coffee, Japanese coffee and fruity drinks. Presentation of the cakes are tip top when everything looks oh-so-goooood and irresistible that one can get greedy and carried away when ordering too! Will return whenever I I have that craving for tasty, softy, melt-in-the-mouth kind of snacks from this shop in ConpassOne!

The staff told me it doesn’t matter how many slices of cakes I want, they can fit into the box. So I went ahead to choose 6 slices (lucky I didn’t choose up to 7, or else I really don’t know how stuffed the cakes will be) But I was shocked when I came back and found the cakes all “stuffed” in the so called box she says it fits. I expected that the cakes to sit nicely and not stacked on top or even sideways just to fit into the box? Wow! Amazing…..I’m very disappointed….

Two of the three staff were just plain rude and unhelpful. Asked for a splash of milk in my earl grey tea and was told off in a very curt manner. “No we don’t do that”, “why do you need milk in it?”, “you need to pay, okay?!”, “we’re not Starbucks”, “go ask the other staff” were responses I got.
