TORI-Q CompassOne brings authentic Japanese yakitori excellence to B1 level at #B1-47/48, continuing a proud Singapore heritage that began when founder Yohei Takeda opened a takoyaki stand at Clark Quay in 1994 and launched the first TORI-Q outlet at Takashimaya in 2000. Operating from 10:30am to 9:30pm, this homegrown Singaporean brand has grown alongside the local community for over two decades, expanding to more than 20 outlets across the island's busiest and trendiest areas while maintaining authentic Japanese flavors and preparation techniques.
The restaurant specializes in hand-grilled yakitori skewers made with only the finest ingredients and seasoned exclusively with their specially formulated 'tare' sauce, prepared fresh daily to ensure consistent quality and authentic taste. Popular menu items include tender Chicken Yakitori glazed with savory-sweet sauce, Teriyaki Chicken marinated in sweet tangy flavors, delightfully crispy Chicken Skin skewers, juicy Chicken Ball meatballs, plus premium options like Tontoro pork and Unagi skewers, with affordable pricing ranging from to .50 per stick and special promotions offering 1 free stick with every 10 purchased.
With convenient dine-in and takeaway services, plus delivery through foodpanda, TORI-Q CompassOne provides exceptional value through consistent quality, fresh ingredients, and quick service that keeps customers returning for perfectly cooked, moist, and tender yakitori instead of dry, overcooked alternatives. The restaurant's commitment to authentic Japanese grilling techniques, combined with wallet-friendly pricing and reliable consistency praised by loyal customers, makes it the go-to destination for both quick meals and satisfying Japanese cuisine experiences in Singapore's largest suburban mall.
This was my first time ordering less rice from Tori-Q, didn't know that it was 20 cents off. After I paywaved, trainee realised that she did not include the discount as she did not notice the green sticker on the rice box. She presented with an attitude, forcefully threw chopsticks and a spoon inside the plastic bag, blamed me again and again for not checking the price before paying.

food is great but i had very bad encounter with one of the staff (picture below) at compass one on 22/1/24 around 430PM. since set c is only 3 karaage, i told her ill get the other items later, she was screaming too much wnd added it into my rice, later on I found out i charged according to alacarte price instead of set, if she wasnt screaming so much, she would have heard me and i would buy the other sticks with a seperate purchase afterwards. She had to asked me twice if i needed mayonnaise on my rice as she was talking to other staff. I hope SK management will look into this (staff handling orders)

I ordered Set A (2 Chicken, 1 Ball, 1 Pork) and cashier told me to wait for the meat ball to be ready. I waited, and came back to find out that the meat ball wasn’t even in the box of food. Wasted my $8.10.

The staff at this outlet were rude and unfriendly. I was told by the staff that I could not purchase the 10+1 stick promotion with the add-on rice. I was willing to pay for the rice alone, which was $2.80, but nonetheless, the staff still reluctant take my order.

Staff are not proactive. Asked to wait for missed out items and when it was ready they just stood there and act blur. Secondly while knowing that the hot items are always depleted ie. Pirikara customers are always made to wait 10mins as staff requested. This branch of Tori Q is not hard up for business. There was once the supervisor like lady who was doing account closing I supposed, argued and showed attitude while she herself had charged me less and I had told her to charge me right and her reply was 'you say what then we do what lor'. 😲 I do not think I am hard up for eating another stick of tori q for free. This is the least wanted to visit Tori Q branch in my list.

I visited the Compass One outlet on 26 April 2023 7.50pm and the staff on duty were just beyond hope.
Had to repeat my orders several times to the staff picking my order; not sure she wasn’t paying attention or could not hear me. She did not even ask me to repeat, she merely stood there and look back at me.
The cashier on duty was just plain rude. Although she had packed my order, i asked if there was mayonnaise inside. She THREW out the cutlery to check the box. She shoved the receipt to me and did not even say a “Thank you”. She is the rudest Tori-Q cashier i’ve encountered.
If it weren’t for convenience, i will not even patronise this outlet again. The only saving grace is the taste of the food.

First time visiting the outlet at Compassone. Auntie packing my boxes was polite and got my orders right. Guy at the cashier counter was also very polite and proactive. Thumbs up. However, food not up to usual Tori Q standard. Many yakitori sticks were charred. Despite me asking for the least blackened ones, they were still too charred. I had to snip off the charred bits at home.

I am the fan of TORI-Q since your first outlets at TAKASHIMAYA era. Understand this Compass One store at basement 1 that was open weeks ago. This afternoon, l did order the takeaway Bento A for my dinner, HONESTLY, I had to say it was badly prepared n pack at.
Noticed your crew or team were limited manned, a properly basic n OTJ trainings should be taught before the crew were put on for the jobs n attended to the customers needs. I also noticed that your store were looking for HIRING which l can understand BUT the presentation of this afternoon's takeaway were not arranged in sequence n it REALLY LOOK B A D n POOR like pouring too much Teriyaki gravy on the rice grains, the stick meats were over charred burnt, the QC was not adhered at, should seaweeds strip n pink pickles were totally mixed in like the mixed salad, at least it should be properly portion, arranged, appetite n looked nicely presented at before we ate them. At least, there were images or photos to show the crews how the items look like n presentation.
Management, kindly LOOK into these matter seriously, n do some "MYSTERY" OR SPOT CHECK in this store.
Lastly, your NEX, AMK HUB outlets were doing the better organisation n systematic jobs in result long queue n customers satisfaction.......

⭐ Review: Tori-Q @ Compass One
Tori-Q feels like a Japanese fast food chain done right. It reminds me of the popular spots across Tokyo—especially those in subway stations—except here, we’re lucky to enjoy a clean, comfortable seating area that mirrors Japan’s standards quite closely.
What I’ve always appreciated about Japanese food culture is their strict SOPs and consistent quality, and Tori-Q has done a great job replicating that here. The attention to detail, from the service to the presentation, reflects the pride the Japanese place in their food.
I ordered a bento rice box, which came topped with seaweed and pickles—I especially love the pickles! For my 5 skewers, I chose my favourites:
• Pork Asparagus
• Totoro Pork
• Chicken
• Chicken Ball
• Nitimago (flavoured egg)
Every skewer was flavourful, tender, and grilled to perfection—sooo yummy!
As with most good Japanese food, it comes with a slightly higher price tag. But for the taste and quality, it’s worth the occasional indulgence.

Super nice lady worker. we bought 2 boxes with 4 sticks. lady helped seperate 2 sticks in individual bags and add extra mayo in both boxes + the individual bags. super happy with the service. very patient and nice staff.

This outlet offers delivery via Foodpanda and they are able to consistently follow instructions properly. However, one star taken off because there is quite a lot of char on the meats.
