The food portions here are generous and satisfying, with decent quality that matches the price point. However, service was slower than expected during my visit, likely due to the kitchen being short-handed and an unusually large crowd. It’s clear the staff were doing their best, but the waiting time for food to be cooked and served was noticeably long. I believe the experience would be much better on a regular weekday when it’s less busy. Overall, it’s still a good place to dine if you’re not in a rush and enjoy hearty portions with fair taste.

Food was on average side, nothing surprising nor special. Food portion decent but when served day dessert was smalland pathetic, seems like less than half of those cakes at Starbucks. Only visit when there's complimentary meal by insurance else never got the urge to walk in. Collin or Aston seems did better portion and food.

For me, it's a solid 3⭐️.. not the go-to place for a proper steak out.. but you can't compare/ complain for their price point.
The baked potato 🥔 is really nice with cream and bacon 🥓 bits.. could just eat this alone.
The rest were decent, and note to myself - always order medium rare for any steak items.
Give the carbonara a miss though. It was under flavored, and I find the onion (a tad raw).

Visited Jack's Place at Compass One on 16 June 2024, during dinner time. We each opted for the 4-course dinner set priced at $38. The meal included the soup of the day (seafood clam chowder), an appetizer (salad with cheese and chicken meat cubes with roasted bread stick), main dishes (tenderloin steak and salmon fillet), and dessert (brownie).
The service was excellent, but there is room for improvement with the food. Here are my personal thoughts on each course:
Firstly, the seafood clam chowder soup was decently thick but lacked flavor. The seafood consisted of a single piece of crab meat (the common kind you find at the supermarket) and one piece of squid. To enhance this dish, a more generous portion of fresh seafood and additional seasoning would be beneficial.
Secondly, the appetizer was not fresh and had an unusual taste. Improving the freshness of the ingredients and ensuring the salad is well-seasoned could make a significant difference.
Thirdly, the main dishes were decent but not outstanding. The tenderloin was cooked to medium but didn't have a distinctive flavor. Enhancing the seasoning or offering a choice of sauces might elevate this dish. The salmon was acceptable but could benefit from a more flavorful marinade or sauce.
Lastly, the brownie was very dry. A warmed served moister texture could improve the overall dessert experience.
Overall, Jack's Place has great service, but enhancing the flavor and freshness of the dishes would make the dining experience much more enjoyable.

There were many things that were not ideal that I would like to point out. First was the wait for the food. After ordering, the drinks and bread came. Okay. But the seafood salad took forever and came even after the kids' meal! In the end, it took more than 30 min before our food came.
Then the kids' fish and chips and the chicken cutlet were overcooked (as can see in the pic) until it was abit charred and hard to bite. Service was also not very attentive. For example, we had 4 people but they only gave us 2 serviettes.
For the price, I don't really feel like the food is premium enough. Probably won't come again.

Here’s a follow-up to my previous review 7 months ago: 5 stars for the steak (previous 4)! +1 to service but I still think they still need to make some changes to the lighting and interior. From the last time I was here i wasn’t expecting much in terms of the food but after my plate of filet mignon I believe they deserve to have full marks. Keep it going!
Much improved cooking! I’ve visited several JP branches through the years and this is the first time I’ve decided to give it a review as for the first time I did get a great plate of rib eye steak! I will definitely be back and see if its a one-off 😉

the manager here is very patient and kind! meticulous and manages the place very well. food was very nice. the chicken and cheesy sausage meal is totally worth it, and is a large portion of chicken. the steak was well done, the truffle and carbonara pastas are creamy and rich with taste. food was served in a short amount of time too.

went with family. the restaurant is hard to find. finally found it next to the value store at 4th floor. We ordered fish and chip, lamp chop with baked potato, lasagne.
the fish is too saltish, better if they use. Lamb chop is ok, a lot of fat strip, unbitable, the meat part is ok. But not something i will come again for. Nice ambience. Hard to find seat. We waited for 18 mins. They refused to let us share table with another existing customer even though she is ok. I thot they could be more flexible about it.
The bake potato with the sourcream + bacon + spring onion... is our favorite, we finished it all. Dessert we ordered the ice cream with waffle and brownie. It was good.
We will revisit, next time try other dishes.
