Visited for lunch and found the food to be decent, with an average variety—while enjoyable, there are comparable options at a similar price point. That said, I appreciate their effort in introducing a new broth, and the sayur lodeh was a nice touch.
Unfortunately, the dining experience took a turn when we noticed a cockroach crawling on the seat. We immediately informed the staff, who promptly addressed the situation, but it understandably diminished our appetite. Cleanliness is a crucial aspect of any dining establishment, and I hope they take steps to improve this moving forward.

Shabu Sai is a popular hot pot and shabu-shabu restaurant known for its all-you-can-eat concept, offering a wide variety of fresh meats, seafood, and vegetables. The broth options are flavorful, with choices like spicy miso, sukiyaki, and clear broth, catering to different tastes. The meat quality is decent for the price, and the DIY sauce bar adds a fun, customizable touch. Service is generally efficient, though it can get busy during peak hours. While it may not be the most luxurious hot pot experience, Shabu Sai provides great value for money, making it a solid choice for casual dining with friends or family.

We love shabu shabu. This buffet restaurant is one of our favourite Japanese restaurant that family gatherings.
Special nice to have free seafood for SG60 promotion when bill spending is S$60 and above.

We usually visit Shabu Sai at Compass One from time to time. During our visit today, we noticed that the Japanese udon noodles had a strange plastic-like taste after cooking, so we decided not to eat them. After making payment, we gave this feedback to the staff, but he did not seem keen to engage or respond.
We also observed that some of the vegetables were browning, which raised concerns about their freshness.
Additionally, while the staff were on their meal break in a corner of the restaurant, they were playing media out loud on their mobile device, which could be heard throughout the dining area. While it is completely understandable for staff to have their breaks on-site, it may not be appropriate for diners to have to listen to whatever is being played as we paid to dine in peace.
We hope this feedback is helpful and taken into consideration to improve the dining experience.

We definitely need more Japanese steamboats around this neighborhood. ShabuSai served Buffett style steamboat with Japanese soup bases and cost $33.50 per person and this price includes free flow drinks. I think they have improved their meat quality.

May I know why are we paying for GST when all they do is just stand around and not clear this mess that was on the table ? It has been there for 30 mins at least. Where’s the service ? Want to earn service tax then at least do some service

Went on a Monday afternoon around 2pm off-peak.
Food- Cheap lunch menu at only 18.99 for the basic all you can eat, consisting of 4 types of meat (beef, chicken, pork belly, pork shoulder) with other hotpot sides and a sauce station with 6 soup bases available. Unlimited drinks for extra $2.50. Meat was delicious and sides paired well with the soup.
Service- idk maybe cause I went off peak but service people were nice and attentive, idk why people say service is bad it was really good 🤷♂️
Ambience- Peaceful and quiet, makes me feel relaxed while I'm feasting like a pig.
Overall, this place is a great value for money, if you want a quiet place to dine on good food do come here and eat, 10/10.

I've left comments for Shabu Sai at Woodlands before.. it remains the same for food.. however think they have removed the idea of per serving of drinks charges and changed back to self refill this it's now back to value for money!!!
Kudos to this shop!!!
